EMG (Electromyography)
At Carolina Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center, we are dedicated to providing patients with access to a full continuum of high-quality care. We offer advanced treatments through advanced techniques, such as electrodiagnostic testing. Electromyography (EMG) is a diagnostic procedure that analyzes the health of muscles and the nerve cells controlling them.
Your nervous system plays a crucial role in your life. When your nerves and muscles are functioning correctly, nerves communicate with your muscles. If there is a complication between your muscles and nerves, it can be caused by electrical signals not being sent or received incorrectly. To locate the source of the issue, board-certified, fellowship-trained expert Dr. Lauren Mogk offers electromyography testing for patients.
During an EMG test, Dr. Mogk will measure the electrical activity in your muscles by placing small electrode needles into your muscle tissue. She then captures and analyzes the muscle’s electrical activity.
